Economics is an argument.

The Economic Reasoning Initiative was founded on the belief that economics should not be taught as a set of definitions to memorize, but as a way of reasoning about the world. Our mission is to help students build that way of thinking and use it beyond the classroom.

High school economics and business competition

ERI runs a national, online economics and business competition for high school students. You pick one of five events. In each one you get a case: a short write-up of a business or policy problem, with the numbers, and you decide what to do. Regionals and Nationals are both online. The top 12 in each event go on to Nationals. The top three finishers in each event win cash prizes from a prize pool of at least $2,000.
